WELL! It's been a while!

Sorry for the delay. I was watching my kids grow up.

Good lord. How do I catch up on twelve years' worth of details, stories, and plot twists? Goodness knows, there has been plenty of all of that!

Gentle reader, my kids are now 23 and 19. They are in college. Glen still works in the Bay Area and I am still in So Cal. But life took many twists and turns along the way. And everything old is new again.

Take, for example, our two-year stint in London. We lived there from 2017-2019 for Glen's work. It was magical, living in the United Kingdom. The kids attended an amazing school - The American School in London. It was stunning.

And then, just like that, we were all back on Foothill Boulevard in Claremont on July 4, 2019, like the two-year adventure never even happened.

Oh, but what adventures we had. Let me list the countries we visited whilst overseas:

France, Germany, Denmark, Malta, Croatia, Belgium, France (a second time), Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Scotland, Luxembourg (for a lunch stop-over), Italy, and Spain.

I think my favorite was Scotland, but I digress.

The kids returned to school back in Claremont - Elizabeth to Foothill Country Day (where she started back in 2012) and David to the Webb School of California, as a sophomore.

Oh, how quickly the years fly by.

Here we are in 2026, awaiting a much-needed election to overturn the nonsense taking place in Washington, D.C. (I still uphold my promise to not make this blog political). It's Wednesday, October 28. I'm now 57 years old, and Glen is 55. Both David and Liz are in college, with David at Tulane and Liz at Sarah Lawrence. Facebook is now Meta. It's all going by too quickly!

The reason I returned to this blog today, at this time, was because Elizabeth called me last night and said, "hey! I was trolling through your old Facebook posts and ... I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD A BLOG! IT'S SO FUNNY!" And she encouraged me to reengage. So, here we are. Or, more to the point, here I am.

And I find that, just as was the case back when I started this blog in ... what, 2010? 2012? ... I really enjoy writing, to memorializing my thoughts and musings, and getting it all down so that, as the years pass, we might recall the good times and, of course, the challenging ones.

Unlike when I first started this blog, though, I make no promises that this will be a daily thing. Baby steps.
